Information we handle

We process information provided by property operators, staff, tenants, applicants, and vendors when they use the service.

• Account and contact details, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and authentication records.
• Property, lease, tenant, vendor, maintenance, notice, and document records.
• Payment, invoice, transaction, and bank-connection information needed to provide financial workflows.
• Messages, uploaded files, support requests, security events, and basic device or usage information.

How information is used

Information is used to operate and secure the platform, provide requested property-management workflows, communicate with users, process authorized transactions, maintain records, troubleshoot issues, and meet legal obligations.

Service providers and disclosures

We may use vetted providers for cloud hosting, email and messaging, payments and bank connectivity, document storage and signatures, and other functions requested by an organization. Information is shared only as needed to provide those services, comply with law, protect users, or complete an authorized business transaction. We do not sell personal information.

Text messaging (SMS) and your mobile information

If you provide a mobile number, Sixth Borough Rental may send you recurring account and service text messages — such as secure links to review and electronically sign lease and renewal documents, rent and payment reminders, and property notices. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, and HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sixth Borough Rental does not sell, rent, or lease mobile information — including phone numbers, text-messaging opt-in data, or consent. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We disclose this information only to our messaging service provider (Twilio), and only to the extent necessary to deliver the messages you have requested.

Cookies, sessions, and trusted devices

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the service. A session cookie (HttpOnly) identifies your authenticated session and expires after a period of inactivity. If you choose “Trust this device”, we store a signed device token (a cookie) on that browser so it can skip the login screen on future visits; the token is created only after a full password sign-in and an email confirmation, is tied to your account, can be revoked at any time from Settings, and requires a fresh full sign-in periodically. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing your browser cookies, or revoking a device in Settings, removes these tokens.

Security and retention

We use access controls, encryption, monitoring, backups, and other safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No system can guarantee absolute security. Records are retained for operational, contractual, legal, and backup requirements, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.

Your choices

Depending on your relationship with a property and applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of certain information. Some records may need to be retained for legal or accounting purposes. Tenant requests may be referred to the property operator that controls the record.
